• Great theme – but I wondered if there’s a way to have the Next and Previous post links appear at the bottom or each post…
    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there! You should be able to add these using the Site Editor. WordPress 5.9 includes “Next Post” and “Previous Post” blocks that you can add into any post or page template:

Thanks! I found the blocks a little earlier today, and was just experimenting with them – but I hadn’t thought of using them in the template! I’ll get on to that straight away!

Well, I marked this as resolved, but I might have been quick off the mark!
I just created two posts on one of our sites and then added the previous and next blocks, thinking that as there were only two posts on the site, the links would toggle between the two.
    Not so.
There are quite a lot of pages (but just these two posts) and to my dismay, clicking the links takes you to one of the pages!
That strikes me as counter intuitive…

    That’s unexpected!

What template did you place the arrows in? If the Previous/Next links are placed in the single template, then they should only cycle through posts.

    Thanks for your help @kjellr.
I put it on the Single Post, and in the Single Post (No Separators) template. I wanted to use Single Post, but I can’t get it to show in the Templates dropdown in the sidebar. Only Single Post (No Separators) shows.
I asked in another thread here, how to make a template the default.

Ah ok. If you’re editing a single post, the “Default template” here is the same as the “Single Post” template:

    I hope that’s helpful!

Yes, thanks for your help, but to be honest, I couldn’t get consistent results with Twenty Twenty Two, so I reverted our sites to Twenty One until it improves. This will doubtless be deleted, but one of the issues was that when I created a post (the the Add New > Post link). When I published it, it turned into a Page! Then when I tried to change it, Single Post wasn’t in the dropdown!

UPDATE: Edited a couple of posts and the links appeared for all of them. Question solved.

I’ve tried to add the previous/next post links in the editor on both “Single Posts” and “Single Posts (no separators)” without success. The links doesn’t appear.

The only thing I did different from what @kjellr suggested is that I’ve put the two components inside a line.
