    Thank you…

The background is distracting, it competes with the writing. If I were you I’d move all the info up closer to the top of the page.

My personal preference is for something a lot less busy. Let your content do the work, not all the widgets on the first page. Dan Derrick

Your main content seems too far down on the page, although I do like the design.

Also, the comments you have on that top article all appear to be spammy links. This doesn’t look good professionally and probably won’t help you with the search engines.

I find your website fresh and delightful! The theme tells a story, which is appropriate for a writer. The focus on the datebook, with cappuccino at hand, gives it a personal and thoughtful “what’s on my mind this morning” look and feel, perfect for the wide assortment of subject matter. I love the pen search box, perfectly brilliant and such a fun idea. Your design really adds some variety and sets itself apart from the usual “safe and clean” minimalist approach that’s so common now. Thanks for sharing!

I like the search too – but I only noticed it when kalibahlu pointed it out! Very clever, but maybe it doesn’t stand out enough.

Looks quite ok, may be a bit old fashioned, like webdesign from 2005. But this depends on who your clients are what target group you’re addressing?
A slideshow and a video clip might provide more features for convincing prospective clients to chose you for the job.

About the search pen, I think if it stood out any more, it might lose it’s delightful element of surprise and risk looking kitsch. I think it’s fine as is, because when people want to search, the first place you look for a search bar is in the upper right, and it says “Search” in it. AMPSound, I think if you wanted to search, you would have spotted it immediately ??

Hmm, to me, it feels like any other basic wordpress theme. It’s alright.. and most other people probably wouldn’t notice that, but I think it’s because I’m familiar with all of the free themes they have out there.

    Very true kalibahlu!
