    Hi Daan,

Yesterdays errors on point update got me thinking and I remembered or realised there is a bunch of sites where I still need to install your plugin. I use the Divi theme on all of these.

Firstly though, by using your plugin and then turning off Use Google Fonts in Divi Theme Options, this does prevent Google tracing the users IP? This is correct?

So I go and instal the plugin and the first see that there is a manual and automatic approach to this but automatic is a Pro feature? I seem to remenber that automatic was the option I used in the past on other installs. I checked my own site (https://www.vaughanprint.com/) and indeed there is Automatic radio button selected.

So ok I get it. I go back to the site I am attempting to run OMGF on an attempt using the manual option with the homepage URL (https://sitedesign.vaughanprint.com/) but I don’t see the table of fonts after clicking Save & Optimize. I don’t see the font files in /uploads/omgf either?

Am I at nothing here attempting to get this to work on the free version of the plugin when using Divi which is a page builder?

Maybe I am missing something here. I set up as per this site (https://www.vincentsheridan.com/) and with Use Google Fonts off in Divi Theme Options the Comforta font loads anyway. I even disabled OMGF and cleared all cases, including Cloudflare, and the font displayed correctly. I do notice on this site that no directory for OMGF appears in uploads?

Ok, there’s quite a lot of questions in your message, so I’ll go through them one by one:

Firstly though, by using your plugin and then turning off Use Google Fonts in Divi Theme Options, this does prevent Google tracing the users IP? This is correct?

Yes, that’s what OMGF does ??

So I go and instal the plugin and the first see that there is a manual and automatic approach to this but automatic is a Pro feature?

About 8 months ago, I decided to do a serious refactor in OMGF’s (and OMGF Pro’s) code and focus. The free version focussing on personal blogs and local businesses, Pro focussing on professionals (webdesigners, corporations, ecommerce, etc.) You can read more about it here.

I go back to the site I am attempting to run OMGF on an attempt using the manual option with the homepage URL (https://sitedesign.vaughanprint.com/) but I don’t see the table of fonts after clicking Save & Optimize. I don’t see the font files in /uploads/omgf either?

Did the free version of OMGF work on that site in the past? Because if so, manual mode should still work. Are you seeing any errors at the top of the screen after Save & Optimize has finished running?

Am I at nothing here attempting to get this to work on the free version of the plugin when using Divi which is a page builder?

Ah, Divi. Yes, they’ve recently made a bunch of (speed improving) changes, and they’ve changed the implementation of how Google Fonts are loaded; i.e. not the usual wp_enqueue_style() method. Because of that, the free version of OMGF (due to www.ads-software.com coding standards/restriction) isn’t compatible anymore and an upgrade to Pro is required. You can read more about that here.

Maybe I am missing something here. I set up as per this site (https://www.vincentsheridan.com/) and with Use Google Fonts off in Divi Theme Options the Comforta font loads anyway.

One sidenote: when using OMGF, you shouldn’t disable Google Fonts in other themes or plugins. OMGF needs to ‘see’ them to know where to find and replace them.

I hope this answers your questions!

    Thanks Daan,

Your thorough replies and run through of how recent Divi improvements helped me resolve this. Under Divi Theme Options Performance tab if you disable Improve Google Fonts Loading and then run Save & Optimise the fonts are detected.

    Thanks again for your help.

Really? Nice! So the free version of OMGF is still compatible! ?? I’ll add it to my documentation!

Would you be willing to help me out and write a review about OMGF? You can do so here.
