    Hello team,

we are using Sportspress for sometime, especially to show matches in calendar and allow users to add the calendar to various devices via provided calender links.

For Outlook / Apple everything works alright – whenever there is an update in schedule it will be immediately reflected in the calendar and the change is visible.

However, this does not work for Google Calendar. Whenever we update match or change a schedule of a match, this won’t get replicated to the Google calendar and it still shows old data. Can we somehow push Google to update the calendar?

Let us know what info you need to help us troubleshoot.

    Thanks in advance.

  • We have the same problem. We use Sportspress for many years now, it worked fine all the time until a few months ago.

Now indeed the Google calendar implementation does not work. What I see in the WordPress back-end is that in that calendar all dates of events are set to the publish date of the calendar. How can I fix this? Because individual events do have a different date.

    Hi Roy,

The wp-admin section is just a visual bug, it isn’t related to the Google Calendar updates (which is out of our control).

If you want, I can send you a fix for that in a new topic.

    Thanks!

So there is no fix for the fact that Google calendars do not work?

I do have one other Sportspress Google calendar feed linked to my Google account, from another website, that works fine. How come that one works fine, and this one (from another Sportspress website) doesn’t?

    Hi there!

    Thanks for your reply.

We don’t control how the Google Calendar app works. We only create the ical file, and as you can see, the file itself is fine (since it works in one of the accounts).

Google Calendar has a lot of issues in general when it comes to auto updating from external sources. Some users have managed to fix it by manually refreshing the feed, some use a nocache option. Unfortunately, I myself haven’t found a reliable solution for this, be it with SportsPress calendars or other calendars.

    Thanks!
