    Hello,

I have been using Smash Balloon for a long time with no problems at all. Everything is up to date and it says I am connected on Instagram but just in the last few days NO images show up on my Smash Balloon Feed. I haven’t done anything? Help. If I cannot resolve this I will remove it from my site because it looks terrible sitting there blank like that. I have well over 2 million visitors so I get a lot of traffic and I like things to work as they should.

Thank you for any help you can give me!

  • Hello,

Not hijacking your post Maitri, just following since I am having the same issue as you, on my website. It became like this after the latest update to version 6.0.1. I can see the profile on the website, but no actual photos: https://ravbysweden.com

Thanks for any help with this,
    Maria

I am having the same issue. Have been using this plugin for years but the latest update broke the display of photos. I can see the profile but no photos.

    Hi
    I have the same issue.
I have the plugin on 6 sites.
    3 updated from 2.9.10 perfectly
3 updated from 2.9.10 to not display the images.
When logged in as Administrator the site flags up an API error 999
My solution? To roll back the 3 sites to V2.9.10 … they then work perfectly.
Not ideal is it? There is a new interface which means extra work and resource to troubleshoot the problem. Haven’t the time.
Thnaks … just adding my story to give weight to the thread and that there is a problem.
Tis a great plugin when working so thanks for that and the pro updates on other sites are fine.
Hope you can find a fix
    Regards Mark

Not working for me either, sadly!

The new version of the plugin seems to have hidden all images, and nothing I’ve tried with CSS seems to be able to bring them back. I think it’s fairly safe to say that something is rather broken with this release.

Let’s hope the authors release a fix very soon!

Same here, downgraded to 2.9.10 and works fine again.

    Hey @maitrilibellule, @mariauelarsson, @kirbmart, @adaptablewebsites, @247creative, @renescr.

Thank you all for reaching out. We are looking into this to see what would’ve caused this for some users in the latest version.

Could you test doing the following in version 6.0.1:

Go to Instagram Feed > Settings > Advanced > enable the AJAX theme loading fix, Save Changes, and then clear any website and browser caches. If this was already enabled, test disabling it and doing the same.

For some users, the issue might be specific optimization plugins creating a snapshot of which files should be served and as we have removed a legacy JavaScript file, this may be part of the issue. For this, it is also important to clear any website caching and rebuild optimizations on the site.

Please let me know whether any of these are helpful in getting the feeds working on your site as we keep looking into this.

    Best regards.

Tried the fix(es) you mentioned yesterday. Sadly, none of them worked…

Images are still hidden within the feed, though are present in the code.

    Hey @247creative,

Thanks for getting back to me. Are you able to share a link to the page with the issue? You can also reach out to us using our support form here. This will allow you to add the System Info from the plugin’s ‘Help’ page found in the top right of the settings which will help us troubleshoot the issue (the system info should not be posted on the forums).

Go to Instagram Feed > Settings > Advanced > enable the AJAX theme loading fix, Save Changes, and then clear any website and browser caches. If this was already enabled, test disabling it and doing the same.

This was enabled on my end, disabled it saved -> works.
Tried to enable this setting again -> also works now.

    Thank you!

My website was in my original post at the top: https://maitrilibellule.com

and I keep reading what everyone is writing but when I go to my IG settings I can’t even see anywhere it says “Advanced?”

I’m just about ready to take this plug in off my site. I don’t have the time, technical skills or energy to mess with a lot of hoo ha. I have had this plug in for some time and it always worked perfectly. if this many people are having this much trouble I think you need to do some kind of emergency fix or roll it back to the last version which worked for people until you can figure something out.

    Maitri

I see you guys have pushed out an update to address the issue. Sadly, it still persists despite all that and no Instagram feed images are displayed.

@joelsmashballoon That worked for me, thanks. Although it was enabled already, same like @renescr . Thanks so much for the support and help ??

    Hey @maitrilibellule,

Sorry to hear of the issue you were still having. Checking your site today I can see the feed working again as you have the update with the fix (screenshot).

For reference, the advanced settings are found in the settings menu and there is a tab for advanced settings here.

@247creative, I took a look at your site here and it looks like this is a conflict with the GDPR Cookie Consent plugin. Please go to this plugin’s Script Blocker settings and disable this (or just the Instagram Feed setting in there). Our script is required for our plugin to work as it should and doesn’t breach GDPR in any way. Our GDPR functionality will ensure a GDPR compliant feed.

We are also releasing another update that will fix this conflict.

@mariauelarsson, glad to hear the feed is working for you as well now!

    Many thanks.
