Add www to WP3 RC3 nultisite/multiblog installation

Dear Esmi:

After reviewed the link suggested by you, it stated how to change url for a domain/subdomain change, but not how to add www in front of a WP3 RC3 multisite installation.

Any help to achieve this ?

Changing from a bare domain to one that is pre-fixed with “www” is a domain name change.

After adding www before our website URL on our WP3 installation as indicated on the article suggested by you “Changing The Site URL” (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL), using the method “Changing the URL directly in the database”.

We installed BP 1.2.4.1, finding out that BP Admin Bar were not functioning correctly. When we click on anything in the menu bar under My account, the click takes me to the front page of my site. If click menu bar under My Blog > Blogname > Dashbord we logout the site.

So we return to change back on the DB our website URL without www in front, and this fix the issue.

Could you help us maintain the use of the www and BP ?

Just a note that Tools_Network_SubPanel has this recommendation:

“We recommend you change your siteurl to example.com before enabling the network feature. It will still be possible to visit your site using the www prefix with an address like https://www.sample.com but any links will not have the www prefix.”
