My gallery slideshow, which I use as the splash page for my site, was working just fine until a few minutes ago. Now, for inexplicable reason, in IE (version 8) and IE alone, it’s shoving the image partially out of the frame exposing the black background on the bottom and right sides. This isn’t happening in any other browser I test will, not Firefox, not Chrome, not Safari, not Opera, so I know it’s not my configuration. This ONLY happens in IE8.

Is there some known issue with IE8 I should know about?

I just figured out the problem. The zoom level in IE8 on my computer was the culprit. At 100% the images fit perfectly in the window but at 125% the slideshow frame expands but the image doesn’t expand with it, exposing the black background as described above. The solution may be to change the stretch setting on the image within the slideshow, maybe to ‘fit’ instead of ‘true’.

OK, that didn’t work either. It also looks like the zoom level does goofy things to the slideshow in other browsers as well. If setting the images to stretch to fit the frame doesn’t fix this I don’t know what would. I may have to live with this.
