I’ve been using The events calendar for some years now, but ran into trouble with the updated design.

Whatever I do the updated designs breaks the complete styling.

  • Yeah, the “updated” design is pretty awful in every aspect. With the removal of the superior legacy view in 6.0 I have frozen my events calendar plugin version and am blocking all future updates on it. I have spent hours trying to make the new views look nice and actually functional and I’m done wasting my time with it.

    Hi @superclassics and @gldrush98,

Our team is working really hard to make sure the updated views have the best possible compatibility with all themes, but as with everything it takes time to make sure all edge cases are considered.

I would love to get some feedback from both of you on what exactly is broken, screenshots pointing the issues so our team can address is a very good start.

Without any specifics it’s really hard to address the problems you might have.

Sometimes the Screenshots will not be enough, so if you have the time or the environment to setup your Theme with the updated views on a Staging site it would be the best for our team to be able to address the problems.

Now there is a second aspect of this that has to do with preference too, if you don’t like how the updated views look that is something that our team cannot solve, all I can add to that is that the updated views are here to enable a much more stable set of Event functionality so that our team can deliver a better overall experience.

On the note above we prepared a FAQ about the legacy V1 Views removal process that goes into more details:

    Hello @bordoni,

I’ve spent more than a sleepless night going over the documentation; as long as I don’t activate Legacy view, it looks perfect (for my purpuses). When I switch it on it looks like attached screenshot.

Running MH Magazine theme (compatible with The event Calendar).

The Event Calender updated to latest version ( this morning!)
Any help much appreciated, as I am restoring all events after a ransom attack a few weeks ago!

    Hi @superclassics,
Just to confirm, when you have the updated view it looks like the first screenshot not the legacy one correct?

So you might be facing some problems with our Single V2 modifications, which could have to do with either Blocks or the Updated Views.

Would you mind letting me know if you using the blocks or classic editor?

Also, try adding the following line on your functions.php to see if that has any effect:

    add_filter( 'tribe_events_single_view_v2_is_enabled', '__return_false' );

    Hello @bordoni,

    Using the classic editor,

Tried adding the filter, beaks backend view event calendar, and shows no result on frontend.
    Thanks in advance

    Peter
