FTP manual update

    Hello there,

    I’m using UpdraftPlus free and I’m trying to update the plugin but I keep getting the following message: “Update failed: No connection or server is busy. Try again later.”

    This is the very first time I’m getting this kind of message. I never had trouble updating the plugin on wordpress dashboard.

    Could you please let me know if I can manually update via FTP? In this case, I just have to delete the files from the folder and replace them with the new ones or is there a special procedure?

    Hi,

    Yes, you can update any plugin by FTP. All that WordPress does when updating a plugin is to download the zip file and unzip it and move the files into place. So, if you do that by any other method, then it’s all exactly the same.
