I wanted a plugin that would allow users to edit a form about their data – the usual user data, like first and last name, phone number, etc., but then a few other pieces of data that were custom to my application and not standard to WordPress. ACF was an easy choice to add new fields to the user screen, but I also had that user screen hidden from the user to prevent them from messing with irrelevant pieces of data like keyboard shortcuts/color scheme/toolbar/etc.

My solution was to make a form that the user could edit, which was easy enough to do by hand, but then things got complicated with image uploads. I figured out a way to do it by uploading the image, then associated the image with the ACF field of that user…but it was an absolute code nightmare. In looking for a better way to do it, I found this plugin, and it solved the problem completely. Build a form for all the fields I wanted and put that form on a page, and now the user can easily edit their data, including images, using WordPress’s built-in image uploader. Easy peasy. Saved me tons of work!

In searching for this kind of plugin, any search involving “WordPress” and “form” yields plugins for contact forms, which aren’t what I wanted…I hope this review helps just a little bit with people finding this awesome plugin!
