Read More button redirect

    Our site is behind a firewall for subscribers only. If they are not logged in and click the read more button in an email to get to the story, they get a 404 error.

    Can I code a redirect into the button if they are not logged in to take them to the login page? And if so where do I do that?

    I’m afraid this is not possible, however, I’d suggest customizing the 404 error page instead to include a login form there, so your subscribers can log into their accounts directly from this existing page.

    If you can edit your theme’s 404 error template file and you’re comfortable with coding, that’s one option. Otherwise, there are also some plugins that allow you to help you customize this page.
