    Hello,

I am using Woocommerce to manage the data feed going into Facebook Commerce.

Facebook are unwilling to assist, because it is a Woocommerce plugin.

I have lots of duplicate items, and I am unable to delete or edit them.
The item display the wrong price and description, they are old descriptions. Whenever I update via Woocommerce in WordPress, those changes are reflected in a different listing.

How can I delete this rogue feed that continues to upload incorrect information? Am I best to just delete the shop and start from scratch?

  • Hi @amnamn180

    Thank you for reaching out!

I would suggest deleting all the products from your Facebook catalog and then letting things sync again.

You can use the code from this page and add it to your theme’s functions.php file, or you can use a plugin like Code Snippets to add the snippet to your website. Kindly follow the below steps:

    1. Install and Activate the Code Snippets plugin
    2. Go to WP Admin > Snippets > Add new
    3. Add a title for the snippet
    4. Paste the code from this page there and click on “Save Changes and Activate

The code snippet will delete all products from the Facebook catalog, and the products on your WooCommerce store will not be affected by it.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi thank you.
Once I have clicked ‘Save Changes and Activate’. What are the next steps?
I assume I check to ensure all Facebook products have been deleted. Do I then remove the snippets code?

    Hi @amnamn180,

Yes, you’d have to remove the snippets once the existing products are deleted. Leaving it there will remove future products.

Once the products are deleted, you can perform a manual sync via Marketing > Facebook > Product Sync tab by clicking the Sync products button to resync all products. Alternatively, you can allow the extension to automatically sync the products later on its own.

I have tried this and it did not work. How long should I expect it to take to update my Facebook feed?

Hi, that solution did not work. None of my items have deleted or updated.

    Hi @lottieveronica,

I have tried this and it did not work. How long should I expect it to take to update my Facebook feed?

Can you clarify the exact issue you’re seeing? Do you mean the products weren’t deleted on Facebook?

If that’s indeed the case, I just tested the snippet and products on my Facebook catalogue were deleted immediately. I added the code using the code snippets plugin: https://d.pr/i/SnXvle

As an alternative, you can also delete the products directly on Facebook. To do this, go to Marketing > Facebook and click on your catalog link to open your catalog on Facebook.

Here are the rest of the steps: https://d.pr/i/umnA6Q

@amnamn180 you can also try the recommended steps. I recommend starting your own thread if that doesn’t help.

I used the code snippets plugin and ran the snippet. I still have duplicate items. I should have 40 items and it shows 51 in my catalog. Deleting the products directly is a pain because I don’t know which ones are the current ones and which ones are old/duplicates.

I tried deleting one I know to be the “old” version and it won’t let me delete the item, only archive it. I have done this with another item that I had sold and needed to remove from Facebook, but now it throws an error for me, so this doesn’t seem like a very good way to fix the problem.

Hi @lottieveronica, the easiest way to fix the problem would be to delete the catalog, disconnect the current connection and set it up afresh (creating a new catalog).

To delete the existing catalog, go to commerce manager > Select the business manager with the catalog (Screencast) > Manage List > Select the affected catalog and delete it.

After that, go to Marketing > Facebook > Disconnect and setup the connection again. (creating a new catalog).

If that doesn’t help. Please create a new thread and describe your issue so we can help further.

    Hey how is everything?
Are there any country restrictions? Because for me the code didn’t work either and I installed it by pasting the snnipet directly in the functions.php file

    Hi @leofernandes_dev

If the snippet is not working, there could be something else interfering. There are no country restrictions.

Can you try following Sunday’s recommendations above?

    1) As an alternative, you can also delete the products directly on Facebook. To do this, go to Marketing > Facebook and click on your catalog link to open your catalog on Facebook.

Here are the rest of the steps: https://d.pr/i/umnA6Q

    2) If that does not work, you can try to delete the existing catalog, go to commerce manager > Select the business manager with the catalog (Screencast) > Manage List > Select the affected catalog and delete it.

After that, go to Marketing > Facebook > Disconnect and setup the connection again. (creating a new catalog).

I recommend starting your own thread if that doesn’t help.
