    Dear support,

I would like to migrate from Yoast to TSF.
I follow all steps in https://theseoframework.com/docs/seo-data-migration/ but SEO data transporter seems to find much less records than really existing.

I can easily fix the site title duplication in meta title with a search and replace query.
But I really need a hint for meta description migration as I have to import thousand of them (for categories and products) and is impossible to do it manually.

    I really appreciate your help

  • Hey Matteo, quite frankly, I would not recommend migrating a sizeable website at the moment. Some other SEO plugin made changes that broke the SEO Transporter plugin. For the record, I doubt Yoast did it to prevent someone from leaving.

Unfortunately, The SEO Data Transporter plugin is abandoned. We tried submitting patches to it, with no avail (The plugin is independent of us, the owner has to approve fixes). This is obviously a problem not only for you, but for us. Users are gradually being trapped inside their respective SEO plugins.

We are weighing our options, either we fork The SEO Data Transporter plugin, or we make our own importer or something else entirely.

I understand this is not the answer you wanted to hear. Trust me, it is also not the one I want to give you since it cuts some users from TSF.

What is the reason that made you want to switch? Honestly, if I had a website with thousands of products, I would not want to switch unless I had serious issues.

    Regards,
    Pierre
Sorry I was not much of help.
