    Hi,

    Context :
    – we had the Pixel installed through manually adding code to the website’s header in 2019 (it’s still there today)
    – a Facebook rep had us install this plugin to get CAPI

Issue : with each Event we receive the CAPI Server event + TWO Browser Pixel events (instead of 1 CAPI/Server + 1 Pixel/Browser).

    Questions:
–> I thought this plugin was supposed to just send the Server side event (and not a second Browser event), but maybe I’m mistaken : can the second, unwanted browser event, come from this plugin?
–> Was the facebook rep supposed to tell us to remove our manual pixel code?
–> May the cause be something else, for instance setting up Aggregated Events? I seem to recall that the unwanted browser events started to appear later than the plugin installation date, with no certainty though.

    Additional info:
For instance for a Purchase event,
    – 1 received browser event has only 2 parameters (value and currency): this one seems to be the Pixel event we’ve been used to receiving for years
    – the second browser event has 9 parameters. This is the one coming from an unknown source

  • Howdy @maps1990,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

The Facebook for WooCommerce extension has built-in support for Facebook pixels and allows users to install Facebook pixels during the setup process.

In that case, I recommend either removing the code you have been using or disabling Facebook Pixel generated by Facebook for WooCommerce. For the latter, you can follow the steps mentioned here.

If you are interested to check if the Facebook Pixen has been properly installed on your site or not, you can follow the steps mentioned here.

I hope this sets you in the right direction. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions; we are here to help.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. It seems from your screenshot that the default option of the plugin is to select an existing pixel, not to create a new one, and the extension which you linked (Pixel Helper) confirms there is only 1 pixel indeed. Going to “Data sources” on my Business Manager indicates the existence of only 1 pixel too.

So I still don’t know where the issue comes from. Can configuring Aggregated Events the wrong way cause this?

    Cheers,
    M

    Hi @maps1990

Thanks for getting back to us.

Interesting! In that case, I recommend reaching out to Facebook support for further assistance. For that, please refer to this page.

    Thanks.
