When I am trying to update to v3.1.5, I am being asked to buy premium. Is there no option for upgrading for free users?

  • I habe seen the same issue. Might be a bug

I hope, that this is a bug. Just downloaded the new version and will manually update.

    I have the same problem – I can’t update to V3.1.5 !

Same thing happening here; trying to check the box on the updates page gives

There is a new version of Stackable – Gutenberg Blocks available. Buy a license now to access version 3.1.5 security & feature updates, and support.

    is this intentional?

Just a heads-up that temporarily disabling javascript prevents the popup from appearing and lets the update go thru:

    `Enabling Maintenance mode…
Updating Plugin Stackable – Gutenberg Blocks (1/1)

    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/stackable-ultimate-gutenberg-blocks.3.1.5.zip…
    Unpacking the update…
    Installing the latest version…
Removing the old version of the plugin…
    Plugin updated successfully.`

Messing with the update workflow with a modal dialog that unchecks the update box like this plugin has done is a pretty big sin, in my view.

100% agree. Breaking the WordPress GUI is real bad in my opinion. Stackable is great, and of course they want their users to pay for the premium version. But this is not they way to go. We’re looking to purchase premium, for the additional features, but this aggressive approach really leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Imagine if more plugin devs did this…

Apologies everyone, there is an issue with the FREE version where it incorrectly tells you that you need a subscription to update to the latest version. This is NOT the case, free users will NEVER need to buy Stackable to get plugin updates!

    To update, follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to Plugins > Add New
    2. Search for “Stackable”
    3. Click on “Update Now”

Alternatively, you can deactivate Stackable plugin, then update it. Or you can manually update Stackable by downloading the v3.1.5 plugin zip file and uploading it into your site.

The issue happened because a flag was accidentally set that made the update notice think that the free version was premium when it comes to updates.

Thank you everyone for reporting this issue. This issue shouldn’t be present in the latest version.
