Change author of Page

No, it does not seem to be a bug. As the editor role is required to edit pages in WordPress.

If you want someone to be the author of a page I would recommend giving them an editor role, so they can actually write the page. Or make the change in the SQl database.

Author = Can write and edit posts
Editor = Can write and edit pages

Well, I did some further research and until 2022/01/19 it was possible to assign a page to an Author.
I can’t change the status of this thread but my question appears not to be resolved.

This was released in 5.9.

@threadi I think you’re right. I’ll have to find a way to fix this.
