Woocommerce and PayU are not having the same order number

    In recent days, we have presented problems according to the order number sequence that must match between woocommerce and the payment gateway that we have integrated, PayU.

    We believed that the problem was in PayU, so in woocommerce the orders are going out with a sequential order number and it was PayU that was throwing a different order number. But we have already been in contact with the PayU support team and after their review they have provided us with proof that the order numbers are an alphanumeric character which is sent from WooCommerce to PayU in the “description” variable in the payment form. of the WebCheckout integration. This indicates that, if in PayU the order number is shown as Order 14862 (for example), this description was sent in the payment form from the merchant side.

    In the case of the reference, it is a unique alphanumeric character that the merchant must assign to each transaction and for the description, it is an identification that the merchant wishes to assign to the transactions, in this case they can be the same.

    Therefore, we kindly request your help to provide a prompt solution to this problem that has been harming our internal operation, since we need the order number in any purchase to be the same in both PayU and Woocommerce.

    Did the site receive any recent updates? To check this much better, please provide the following information:

    Please share a copy of your site’s System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

    Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

    I have updated the plugin Sequential Order Numbers for WooCommerce: by WebToffee as it has been recommended to me, but it has not solved the problem.

    In the forum that you have recommended to me, they have not given me any answer, and the woocommerce support tells me that I should ask here.

    Hello,

    Thanks for sharing the system report and the error logs.

    I can see in the report that you’re using a pretty outdated PHP version – 7.0 has reached End of life in January 2020. I suggest you update it to 7.4 as per the WooCommerce server requirements here: https://woocommerce.com/document/server-requirements/

    Your WooCommerce is also slightly outdated – it’s best to keep it up to date.

    Also, I see several issues with your theme in the report and error logs. The WooCommerce templates that your theme is overriding should be updated. See here how to fix outdated templates: https://woocommerce.com/document/fix-outdated-templates-woocommerce/

    Finally, I see you’re using the WooCommerce – PayU Latam Gateway plugin for your PayU integration, but the author hasn’t updated that plugin in the last 5 years. A lot has changed in WordPress and WooCommerce in the meantime. That can be the reason why your order numbers are no longer correctly sent to PayU.

    Make sure you have a full backup before making any of the changes I suggested above.
