Update to 3.0 crashed my website and dashboard

    I did the automatic upgrade and got a message saying that the upgrade had been successful. However, as soon as I attempted to click on “site stats” I got the following message:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function add_rewrite_tag() on a non-object in /home/toddc2001/thedumbingofamerica.net/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 289

    and my website, https://thedumbingofamerica.net has the same error message.

    Help!

  • Hopefully you had everything properly backed up? Contact your host server and ask them if there is anything they can see to fix the problem. If they can’t then ask them to restore the old version of your site.

    fifthhouse. That probably seemed like an obvious suggestion to you, but I didn’t think of it. I contacted my host and they had it working within 5 minutes. Thanks for the assist.
