    Hello,
I am new to using web stories. Once I create a new web story, does Google stop showing my old web stories to people? Can you only have 1 featured web story at a time? I’m asking because it seems like when I create a new web story, the traffic for the previous web story goes away completely in Google Analytics. It could be that I’m misinterpreting the data but I can’t seem to find the answer to this question anywhere.
    Thanks for your help!
    Annie

@peaktoplate Hello there and thank you for posting your topic. Please note that questions about search rankings and traffic are generally better suited for Google Search Central, as they go a bit beyond our support offering for the Web Stories WordPress plugin.

That being said, it is not unusual to see spikes and declines in traffic, for example when content is being featured on Google Discover. At the same time, Google Search is constantly improving its algorithms, which can affect ranking. Linking to / embedding stories from other places on your sites and following the recommendations from the pre-publish checklist is a good way to ensure your users will find your stories.

I can see that your Web Stories pass AMP validation so there aren’t any technical issues in the plugin.

When running a Rich Results test I can see no Rich Results detected in this URL. An issue that may be preventing your content from appearing in a rich result format is crawling and indexing. Crawling and indexing are processes which can take some time and which rely on many factors. If you’re not sure whether a change in traffic is caused by a change to your site, use Search Console’s various tools to see if your content is properly crawled and indexed.

You can also read through https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7474347, but again, Google Search Central Help Community forums will be able to provide further help and debug cases like this.

Thank you so much for your insight! Something does seem a little off in my analytics for my stories anyways (showing zero views on previous days that I know had views) so I will definitely read through the other forum. Thanks again!
