    Hi there!

Last week we faced a very odd issue with one event that was not shown in our Events page. During our troubleshoot procedures, we found that we had another event with the same name (different slug page) but saved as draft. Once we changed this drafted event name to a different one, the main event was instantly appears in our Events page.

Is there any known bug that prevents to have multiple events with the same name, or to have strange behaviors in this case?

We are currently using 5.12.2 version.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hey @isradlt

    Thank you for reaching out.
Yikes! That is indeed very odd.

There is nothing that should prevent events with the same name to display.
I do have a couple of questions to try to troubleshoot this:

    1. Just to make sure, is your Events page front-end or in wp-admin?
    2. Can you tell me how those events were created? Manually? Via CSV import?

    Hang in there!

    Hey @geoffbel

Our events page is front-end. And those events were created manually.

Let me know if you need anything else to be provided from me ??

    Thanks!

    Thank you for your reply.

Alas, for now, I am unable to reproduce the glitch with the latest version of our plugins. But I have a couple more questions and a suggestion for you.

    1. Are you using Classic or Block Editor?
    2. Do the two events with the same title share the same date and time?
    3. Could you share a link to the site where this is happening (there should be an option to share that link only for logged-in users)?

As for my suggestion, I would highly recommend always using the latest version of our plugins. Just make sure you test any update in a staging environment: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/creating-and-using-a-wordpress-staging-site/

    Cheers

    Hey Geoff,

    Thanks again.

We are using classic editor. And the two events has differents date and time values.

Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce the error again, once I have changed the event names the problem has disappeared. And I have tried to change the names again to match, but the issue has not happened anymore ?????♂?

I will follow you advice to use the latest version and will do my test and let you know if the issue comes back again.

    Thank you!
