Hi, what I would like to know, and couldn’t find (it was difficult for me to know the correct terms as a non-native English speaker) is if there is the possibility to treat the ‘Regular price’ input in the product back-end as the full price including tax and derive the tax amount from that full price by using the VAT percentage that I set in the settings?

I can only find the option add taxes to the price that is set in the product data.

So that when I have a product that cost 109 units, and the tax is 9%, that woocommerce ‘knows’ that the price without VAT is 100 units and then 9% is added to make 109 units the price.

Alternatively I could of course manually calculate these prices, but my art store just opened and I am expecting to rise the prices soon according to how well the sales go. Having to manually do the calculation would take more effort than having Woocommerce do this for me.

What I like the most about this solution is that I can create a price based on emotion instead of ending up with a price that is rounded to 103.23 or 103 (without decimals) for example. I’m an artist and for me it would work the best if I can just say ‘I feel this work should be worth 105 units’ and then have the site ‘know’ that the 9% VAT is included in that price of 105 units.

Thanks for your time and energy, I hope this message clearly explains what I’m trying to achieve.

    Hi @ohmarinus,

It’s a little convoluted, but I understand that you want to display the gross price in the product admin backend, and the same should be displayed in the frontend?

There is not a way to do this in WooCommerce, the only solution I’m thinking of would setting a 0% VAT rate so the price will be the same in the backend and frontend.

It might be achieved with custom coding though, but that goes beyond the scope of support we are able to provide in this forum.

If you require more help with the actual coding, we’d recommend hiring a developer or one of the customization experts listed at https://woocommerce.com/customizations/.

    All the best.

    Hi @rainfallnixfig,

Thanks for your reply. I just came home and looked at it again and I totally missed the first setting:
“Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax”

When doing this, the system calculates the 9% tax that is contained within the price.

So I was looking in the wrong place to make it work the way it was intended.

    Hi @ohmarinus

Great! Thanks for letting us know.

I’ll be marking this topic as resolved. Should you have any other questions, feel free to create a new thread.

    Cheers
