Fatal Error on plugin update

    Ran plugin updates and got a fatal error. Entered recovery mode and it says the problem was this plugin and the error is Uncaught RuntimeException

    Hello @digdug5 & @bexmarie ,

    I’m sorry to hear that both of you are having this problem with the latest version of the Google listing & Ads extension.

    From the error message, it seems the plugin was unable to locate the correct file/folder for it. Can you please deactivate and then delete the plugin (you can also delete the Google-listing-ads folder from wp-content > plugins folder).

    Then try installing the latest version. Let us know how it goes.

    It will be great if you could share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment.

    Hm. Any reason as to WHY that happened or how to prevent it going forward?
    Not feeling very confident in keeping the plugin.

    Thanks for getting back to us.

    Any reason as to WHY that happened or how to prevent it going forward?

    The causes may vary, but most of the time it’s due to server-related issues such as permissions.

    For now, I would recommend retrying the update as my colleague mentioned, or updating the plugin via FTP (here’s an article on that).

    If the issue persists or happens when updating another plugin, I would then suggest checking with your host.

    But let us know how it goes when you retry the update.
