Update Child theme

  • Hi, I’ve started using the Hello Elementor Child theme and I was wondering about the process for updating it. Is it done like any other theme from the “Updates” menu or do I have to manually download it from the GitHub repository? Thanks

  • The Child theme inherits all the functionality of the Hello Elementor theme, so although it only shows the Child theme as active, it is actually using resources from the original. So when you update the original, your child theme will see the benefits.

    I’d recommend sticking the main theme on auto-update, and monitor any customisations made to the child theme yourself.
