When I generate an Invoice, the Item Sub Total Shows at the end, Then Shipping is added to the Invoice and then The GST amounts show. However the GST is levied only on the Product Prices and not on Shipping. How do I add a Tax on Shipping since it is a service and is Taxed? Please check Screen shot (I have entered 69 Rs as shipping Rate in the shipping master here https://prnt.sc/4dae3QuQUn5K . How do I add a split of actual rate + tax?
So that if the Tax is say 4 Rs and Shipping Cost is 65 Rs , it should show Shipping Cost 65 Rs + GST on Shipping 4 Rs in the invoice , Also the tax Rate for Shipping Will be fixed as it is a service in itself and we cant go by the same tax rates that are applied to products (As different products may have different tax rates based on what category of tax they fall in)

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out!

How do I add a Tax on Shipping since it is a service and is Taxed?

Checking your screenshot, I see that “tax status” for your flat rate shipping is set to “none”. You would want it to be set to “taxable”.

How do I add a split of actual rate + tax?

You would go to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax and make sure you have “Display prices during cart and checkout” set to “Excluding tax”. This way, a separate section just for taxes is shown at checkout.

Also the tax Rate for Shipping Will be fixed as it is a service in itself and we cant go by the same tax rates that are applied to products

Please check this guide on setting a shipping tax class: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/#shipping-tax-class

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Shipping Tax Class > Set to 18 %

However the final checkout still shows shipping cost as a whole and doesnot split it into cost + Tax

    Kindly Suggest

    Regards

    Hello,

the final checkout still shows shipping cost as a whole and doesnot split it into cost + Tax

Thank you for your reply. If you set Display prices during cart and checkout to Including Tax, shipping tax will be included as part of shipping cost along with the text “incl. tax” – https://snipboard.io/pUwFWA.jpg

However, if you are trying to show shipping tax amount in a separate line, there isn’t a built-in way to do that. You’d need to either look for a plugin that does the job or consider customization, in which case, I’d recommend getting in touch with a web developer or one of the services on our Customizations page: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
