Search widget not working with Oxygen Builder

  • Hi Marcel,

    I’ve installed your Gwolle Guestbook plugin but I got trouble building a search bar for the guestbook. I know there should be a Guestbook Search widget available for this purpose, but my page builder Oxygen disables all widgets/sidebar by default.

    In Oxygen I can still see and insert the “Guestbook Search” by Add > WordPress > Widget but it’s not working at all.

    I also tried to install these two plugins below to restore a sidebar with Guestbook Search widget and then inserted that sidebar in Oxygen, but still it’s not functional at all.

    Do you know if there’s any way to use the guestbook search function on websites built by Oxygen?

    I finally found the solution. I need to add the shortcode of the Gwolle Guestbook [gwolle_gb] not only into Oxygen, but also to the Page editor area too!! This way the search bar shows!!

    God this took me two days to figure out. Finally it’s working!

    Ah, yes, sorry about the wasted time.
    I should document somewhere that the search widget will only be shown on guestbook pages. I don’t feel comfortable in plastering this widget all over the website.

    Maybe it should just be an option inside the widget?
    What do you think?

    That sounds like a good idea. Will save some time for Oxygen users definitely :). By the way I think I’m the first Oxygen user who uses Gwolle Guestbook haha.
