• hi, First of all, thank you for this great plugin.

Two days ago I experienced an important bug that I think is related to duplicator.
I had about 80 test products registered on my website, so there were a lot of product images. I then created an installation package from this website using duplicator and then moved it to a new website (with different host and domain).
In the new website, naturally, all the products of the previous website were included with their images.
In the new website, I removed all 80 products that were on the previous website, and then removed the images of all the products from the WordPress media section. (by bulk select)
But when I went to my host (new site), all the product images remained in the uploads folder! There are even different sizes of images that WordPress automatically generates.

After removing the duplicator, I deleted other images from the media section again, but this time there was no problem and the images were completely deleted from the uploads folder. I think there is an important problem here.

    Reproduction steps

1- In a website, enter 2 test products and insert two images for them. featured image and gallery

2- Using duplicator, get an installation package from the website and move it to a new site.

3- After running the installation package on the new website, delete the two products that you created on the previous website.

4- After that, go to the WordPress media section and delete the images related to those two products (by bulk select).

5- Now go to the file manager (host) of the new website and enter the uploads folder. Product images still remain in this folder …

I apologize for the long explanation. I hope you succeed in reproducing it. thank you!

  • Hey @hoseinkh,

We are unable to reproduce this issue, typically if this was a common issue then we would have dozens of tickets about the issue by now, and typically right after the update was released.

Have you been able to reliably reproduce this issue on a separate server or on separate sites? It’s possible you might be using the same database for both sites by mistake or it’s possible there could be a sym-link setup that is causing these issues.

If you can reliably reproduce the issue you might check the actual URLs of the posts and images that are being removed. The images and post URLs of the new site and old site should definitely be different.

    Thanks
