ITEM_TOTAL_MISMATCH error message

    For one item (linked below) after billing details are provided and you click a payment method (PayPal, Venmo, or Debit or Credit Card), then this message appears ITEM_TOTAL_MISMATCH Should equal sum of unit_amount * quantity) across all items for a given purchase_unit You can then not proceed with the purchase.

    It’s only this product…unfortunately it is one of my client’s best sellers. We’ve recreated the product and that didn’t even work.

    I did find if you add another item in the cart with the troublesome item, it seems to work. The whole thing is strange. System summary is below. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi @oldpixelpusher,

    An ITEM_TOTAL_MISMATCH error means something is unexpectedly modifying the line details. This could, for example, happen as a result of a conflicting behavior with a plugin that adds additional fees to an order like the WooCommerce Extra Fees plugin.

    But I would argue that the error is correct because there’s an actual mismatch in the total:

    When adding all fees together, the total in your checkout should be $29.16, but it’s only $29.15.
    When increasing the product quantity to 2, the insurance and handling fee are no longer $0,83 but instead $1.65, so it no longer comes to a rounding error.
    But with a quantity of 3, the total would be incorrect again.

    Beyond temporarily disabling the Fees plugin, you may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. We recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.
