I receive this error message when trying to edit the homepage with elementor. “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”

I’ve deactivated plugins to see if it was the cause the issue and have come to find that it’s the theme. When I switched to a default theme it allowed me to edit the home page. Also when I add a new elementor page then switch the template to home it gives me that error message.

Elementor’s solution is: “This is the line you need to add: <?php the_content(); ?>

    Can you please assist me?

  • Hi,

Since the issue is caused when the theme is activated and as we have no control over coding for third-party themes, I highly recommend that you report this issue to the support team for this theme so they may further troubleshoot and provide a solution.

If they need any technical details regarding Elementor, they are free to open an issue on our Github page where our developers will be happy to collaborate directly with them.

Regarding the second error, could you please elaborate on this issue?
