Short link for Term/Category page by ID

    Hello, i am trying to have short link for category pages (for example product_cat)

    by default wordpress, woocommerce link for category page is
    websitename?product_cat=easy-printing
    I have some slugs contain arabic characters, so the link will be soooo long
    example

    websitename?product_cat=%d8%ad%d9%84%d9%88%d9%84-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b7%d8%a8%d8%a7%d8%b9%d8%a9-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b3%d9%87%d9%84%d8%a9

    there is any plugin, hook, i can use it to make it by id and not slug ? for example
    websitename?product_cat=123

  • Hey @tayssirch,

    Currently, there’s not a built-in way to do this. One option would be to set up 301 redirects where you make a page with a short URL and then use .htaccess to redirect it to the actual category. Then you can share the shortened URL.

    Another option would be to have a solution custom-coded for you. If you’d like to go that route, there are freelance developers at Codeable who would be happy to help you out.
