Post ID not going sequentially

  • The reason would be because the post table is not only used for posts, but attachments, revisions, trashed items, pages, custom post types, and more..

    Each use an ID in the posts table..

    So naturally the posts will not go up sequentially..

    So, I shouldn’t be worried about this?

    And wow, i didn’t think we’d used that many drafts, pages etc.

    This is perfectly normal you shoulnd’t be worried about this!

    Not a problem at all. Also if you have created a page and then deleted it the id that was used for that page or post will be gone for ever and not used again therefore meaning that your numbering will not be sequential.
