    Yoast analysis used to always work fine for me, but now has bugs.

    Yoast incorrectly reports these issues for a blog post:

    – Keyphrase is not in introduction – not true, the keyphrase is mentioned in the very first sentence.

    – Multiple H1s in the article. Not true, there is only 1 H1.

    – Use more keyphrases in H2 and H3 – incorrect, keyphrase already mentioned multiple times in headings.

    – Text length: the text contains 246 words. Not true: article contains 1,267 words.

    The blog post was made with the WP Gutenberg editor.

    Hopefully someone has a solution for these bugs, thanks!

    Hello Michelangelo,

    I am sorry to learn that the Yoast SEO analysis does not meet your expectation. First, by WP Gutenberg editor, I safely assumed you are referring to the default WordPress content editor. Can you confirm the version of WordPress and Yoast SEO you have?

    We look forward to hearing from you.

    Helly Maybellyne,

    Yes, I meant the default WordPress content editor.

    I’m running on WordPress 5.9.3 and Yoast 18.5.1.

    Thanks for the feedback. Does the issue resolve if you update to Yoast SEO 18.6?

    I just updated to the latest version of Yoast 18.6, but it does not make any difference: the bugs are still there.

    Hi @michelangelo2015

    That’s definitely strange. We tested this out with a default WP theme (TwentyTwenty) and just the Yoast SEO plugin, so using the default WP block editor, the content analysis was working just fine.

    Do you mean you have another plugin like Gutenberg enabled? Or could it be the block/default editor within a third-party page builder plugin or custom theme box?

    We’d have to investigate further on this as it could be something specific to your setup, but we are unable to do so over these public forums. You might want to consider Yoast SEO Premium for personal premium support so we can take a closer look at this.

    No I just use the default WordPress editor, no plugin/page builder/custom theme box. I’m also surprised, as it always used to work fine but since a while not anymore and I keep getting the same incorrect analyses for blog posts. I will see how it goes and hopefully it will resolve itself in a future update.

    Hi @michelangelo2015

    Could you provide us with a link to a sample post where this issue occurs? It’s definitely strange that this is happening with the default WordPress block editor.

    Could you check if you are using any custom blocks within the default WordPress block editor aside from the usual heading or paragraph blocks that might narrow this down?

    Hi @mikes41720,

    Here is a link to a sample post: https://www.tekstmeester.nl/google-discover/. For this post, Yoast incorrectly report these problems:

    * Text length: 246 words.
    * Keyphrase not in introduction
    * Multiple H1s
    * Keyphrase not mentioned enough in sub headings.

    The post is made with the default WordPress editor. There is only 1 custom HTML block in there for the Podcast player. But this should not cause the issue: I checked a post that does not have this podcast HTML block in it, and for that one Yoast also incorrectly reports issues, such as incorrect word count.

    Hey @michelangelo2015,

    That’s odd. I copied and pasted the content of that blog into a local site and Yoast SEO is able to find the 1265 words correctly.

    This sounds like something on your site makes Yoast SEO not able to scan the (full) content. I’d suggest doing a conflict check to see what combination of plugins and/or your theme is the culprit.

    Make sure to be running the latest versions of all plugins, themes, and WordPress itself before you do the conflict check. Before running updates, please make sure to have a site backup.
