    Hello,

I received an alert that our user.ini file is publicly accessible. I am not sure what to change to fix this.

I see this in the backend:

    Change Permissions
    File(s)/Folder(s):
    /www/apiii.us/.user.ini
    Mode User Group Others
    Read Yes Yes Yes
    Write Yes No No
    Execute Yes Yes Yes

    Which permissions should I change?

    Thank you,

    Robert

    Hi @hodinator,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The .user.ini server configuration file is used to optimize the Wordfence firewall.

Since your scan result says that the .user.ini server configuration file is publicly accessible, then you can use the HIDE FILE button to prevent it from being publicly accessible. You can read more about this here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/scan-results/#scan-results-actions

You can then test it using the URL below, replacing example.com with your domain name:
    example.com/.user.ini

Let me know if that works for you!

    Thanks,
    Tiffany
