    Hi,

    The backend of WooCommerce (products, orders etc.) is taking way too long. I have disabled all themes and plugins except for WooCommerce but it’s still slow.. I can see in the network tab that post.php takes 20 seconds to load sometimes.. How do I fix this?

    I have already tried the Heartbeat plugin but that doesn’t help aswell..

    Are there any JavaScript errors appearing in your browser’s developer tools console?

    I would recommend installing a plugin called Query Monitor which is useful to debug slow queries in WordPress.

    I have done this and found out that some query’s take A LOT of time.

    WP_Term_Query->get_terms() is the worst one. (https://postimg.cc/FY4fycbx)

    We have 600 categories and around 62.000 attributes on the website, this might be the issue (although our hosting is superior).

    Is there a way to not load in all taxonomies?

    It’s quite strange that the edit product page is taking more than 20 seconds to load. What I noticed is that, although I change the language in the general settings, there is no string (&lang=nl) for the language appended to the page URL. On my end, the page URL appears as [my-site]/wp-admin/post.php?post=5543&action=edit whatever language I select.

    I would suggest clearing the cache from your caching plugins and reaching out to the host that has tools to check why the page is taking too long to load.

    It could be, but may not necessarily be the only reason.

    I see that your theme overrides many WooCommerce templates and some overrides are outdated. You may want to update those and see it that helps. You can refer to our documentation on how to update outdated templates: https://woocommerce.com/document/fix-outdated-templates-woocommerce/

    Hi @margaretwporg ,

    I have disabled all plugins except WooCommerce and also activated the Twenty Twenty-one theme but when I try to edit a product I get the same, a very long loading time..
    This time 16,23 seconds..

    Thanks for confirming. Have you tried reaching out to your host like Mirko suggested?

    To perform tests without affecting your live site, I suggest you use a staging site (your host might have that feature, but you can create it with WP Staging as an alternative).

    This way, you can keep the staging site permanently set to Storefront and with all plugins disabled (except for WooCommerce) while troubleshooting.

    Please, let us know if you have any update from your host.
