I have profreehost which is pretty much free hosting that I’m currently using. The domain is a actual registered domain. For the ssl I used a site called sslforfree.com about a month ago it renews every 90-days. I downloaded the Really Simple SSL plugin within WordPress and activated it. Until it gets to generation where it says “We will now generate your SSL certificate”. I get the error “Please complete the following step(s) first: Directories”. I do have the padlock and everything through sslforfree. The reason I’m trying to install Really Simple SSL to see if klaviyo which is a email marketing service will integrate with WooCommerce. Since I get the error in klaviyo “Unable to access https://site.com/.SSL error”. Any help with installing really simple ssl?

    Hi @rarpress77,

I you already have the padlock, and the https://ssllabs.com/ssltest returns a grade A, you don’t need to run the generation anymore.

If Really Simple SSL does not detect the certificate yet (which can happen if the server blocks the check) you can choose “override SSL detection” in the activation notice. Then click “activate SSL”.
