• Hello

I am running a site for running race organizers.

I would like to offer them the opportunity to inscribe their events on a calendar from the front end. They would need to create a user account.

    What I need is :
    – all the races are displayed on a map with icons,
    – when you clik on an icon, you are linked to the event/race description with all the details given by the organizer,
    – a form with many filters that allows to search a race on the map according to his characteristics (km, city, type of race…).

Does someone know a plugin for that ?

    Thanks.

    Fabien.

Sorry for the late reply, I was looking through older topics with no replies and came across your topic. There’s a chance you may have found a solution by now, but I don’t have a specific plugin suggestion anyway.

I advise that you will be unlikely to find a single plugin that will meet all of your needs. You will likely need to piece together functionality from a few more specific plugins.

Directly searching map data with race specific criteria is not going to work very well IME. It’s be better to search for races within the data saved by whichever events plugin you use, then have the search results link to (or embed) a map.

A mapping specific plugin should let you map races, but the dataset created would be separate from the events data. Somehow the two would need to be related to each other. For example, a map pin could link back to the specific race event page that it is locating. The race event page could link to (or embed) the map zoomed and centered on the specific map pin.
