    Hi,
I am using Yoast on all my websites’ and this is the first time this sort of thing happens to me.
On all my archive pages, the %page% variable is ignored by Yoast.
For example, on my Authors archive page, I’ve set the title to be:
    %Name%, Author at %Site title% %Page%
    But all I get is:
<title>Gur Tirosh, Author at Anecdotez </title>
I tried adding other variables, such as %Pagenumber% and it showed in the title tag, so the problem is only with the %page% variable.
I thought of using %Name%, Author at %Site title% - Page %Pagenumber% of %Pagetotal%, but the problem is that this will also show on the first page.
Any idea what could cause this error?
    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello Yoavshai,

Thanks for reaching out regarding using the snippet variables in your author archives. I tested this functionality and could not replicate it in Yoast SEO 19.0 and WordPress 6.0. %Page% works fine for me for /page/2/ but definitely not on the first page which is expected behaviour.

I am not sure what the issue is with your configuration as I also noticed the rel="prev" & rel="next" tags are missing when I view your page source.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
