Link to download picture folder… how?

    I have a largish folder with a bunch of pics. I would like to be able to make a link on my site which immediately downloads the folder for whoever wants it.

    There is an “FTP with login” option on my host, but that puts the login n pass into the URL, which I definitely don’t want.

    Any ideas? Thx.

  • Why not zip the folder into a single archive file and make that available for download?

    Okay, just zipped it, and placed the new file on my root server. How do I make it available for download on my WordPress site now?

    just make a link to it…. where do you want it? in your theme, a page, a post?

    ina page or post, just type what you want, like ‘Download Photos’

    highlight the words you typed, then click the link icon (looks like a chain)

    type in the URL of your folder

    https://domain.com/whatever.zip
