Subsite not working – DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

  • Hello. I am trying to setup a sub site using multisite on WP. I have done the required setup and get the option to create the new site which i do successfully. However after creation, trying to go to the dashboard or page for the new site get an error:

    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

    Any idea what i might be doing wrong? Tried multiple browsers as well as phone and cant get to page at all. Thanks.

    Dns is not resolved, this is not WordPress issue. Please contact your webhost or domain registrar support if you need help with this issue

    The message concerns your domain. It seems that there is no setting for the A-record or C-name. The domain must point to the hosting. Talk to your domain hoster about this.

    I can access the main wp page/dashboard just fine. Just the subdomain is an issue. DOes this still mean its a problem with dns or a-records?

    Yes, a subdomain must also be created in the DNS.
