    hey, I’m working on web stories for the last 2 months and I receive a good amount of traffic but suddenly traffic goes down from 26 May 2022. I made daily 15+ stories with proper guidelines. before this incident, my story’s traffic is approx 60K+ I mean it never falls below 60K daily.
    But after 26 may the scenario is changed. I know the spikes in stories traffic are normal but now I’m not receiving any traffic it’s completely zero.
    The traffic is zero from 30th May. I’m still posting stories but not getting any results. I don’t know what’s happening. if you can help me, please do.

  • @shubr86 Hello, thank you for reaching out with your topic. To ensure that you are set up successfully for receiving traffic and ranking, you’ll want to check that you have valid Web Stories and follow our best practices for creating Web Stories.

    It does look like your stories contain a warning when testing in the AMP Test tool: https://search.google.com/test/amp/result?id=t0WdI-qn8TbCfMf26r9aGA

    That said, questions about search rankings and traffic are generally better suited for Google Search Central, as they go beyond our support offering for the Web Stories WordPress plugin.

    so how i fix that AMP Test tool: https://search.google.com/test/amp/result?id=t0WdI-qn8TbCfMf26r9aGA warning. i check on the internet nothing get. i changed my site theme but still, this error showing.

    @shubr86 It’s possible the issue is related to your themes CSS adding media query incorrectly. Can you temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Two and retest in the AMP test tool to see if the issue subsides? This will rule out your theme as a possible conflict.

    (@shubr86)

    as I already told you I try multiple themes and recheck AMP test tool but still face the same issue. Now I change to Twenty-Two and recheck but still, I see the same error.[ https://news47.us/web-stories/jennifer-lopez-cries/%5D

    I open some of the stories and update them without doing anything and then I check the error is gone. so I can’t understand how the error goes when I just open any story and update them. but this solution i don’t think working because in my search console there are 440 stories affected by this issue.
    what I do next?

    @shubr86 Since you’ve ruled out your theme, the next step would be to rule out any plugins that could be interfering with the Web Stories plugin. As you see in the AMP test, something is interfering with the code to result in the error “CSS syntax error in tag ‘style amp-custom’ – malformed media query.”

    I suspect there is a plugin conflict because when I input your story on my test site the story validates without any warnings on the AMP test. See here: https://search.google.com/test/amp/result?id=-oe9_vL-wGf5Xnvo8WMyxA

    You can isolate which plugin may be conflicting by disabling all plugins except Web Stories, then re-enabling plugins one-by-one and testing on AMP tool until you can reproduce the error once more.

    Additionally, I can check for any obvious plugin conflicts as well if you could provide your Site Health information. You can share privately if you prefer.

    I send it. please check and I know there is nothing you can do about my traffic issue. but you can explain something about this. I make quality web stories that’s why I’m receiving 60000 plus pageviews daily, at weekend it’s touching 1 lakh plus page views. so it is not very common that my site traffic suddenly down to zero or just 10-50 pageviews daily.
    In the last 15 days [after the fall] I make daily 15 plus stories and my traffic is just about 20 pageviews. i ask about this at google community but no one give proper explanation the users told me that might be your site banned by google.

    just check after deactivating all plugin nothing change in the error.

    @shubr86 Unfortunately, this can be a bit tricky to troubleshoot because it requires us to replicate your site’s exact setup with plugin/theme settings. Perhaps you could try to set up a fresh WordPress install on your host with just the Web Stories plugin active to see if you encounter the same issues with the warnings on your stories.

    Note that all of our Web Stories have the following CSS:

    @media not all and (min-resolution:.001dpcm) {
                    @media {
                      p.text-wrapper > span {
                        font-size: calc(100% - 0.5px);
                      }
                    }
                  }

    It appears for some reason this has turned into @media no longer all and (min-resolution: .001dpcm) { on your site, which is invalid.

    Could you please reach out to your hosting provider who may be able to help you locate exactly where the code is? Once the code has been updated this should clear your AMP validation warnings.

    (@shubr86)

    you can tell me where I found that code. I mean which folder or file contains this code. you know this right?

    also if I fresh install my wp after taking backup, then my old stoies live or not? i mean old stories avilable or gone/deleted.

    @shubr86 It’s possible there is PHP code in the functions.php file that replaces “not” with “no longer”, but again, reach out to your hosting provider who may be able to help you locate exactly where the code is.

    also if I fresh install my wp after taking backup, then my old stoies live or not? i mean old stories avilable or gone/deleted.

    After a fresh install on a new domain, the old stories will not be available and you will need to create & publish new stories.

    Hope this helps.

    @shubr86 Since there’s, unfortunately, nothing we can assist with further here, I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. Please feel free to open a new support topic if you experience any other issues. Thank you.
