Distance between elements (or widgets)

Hi,
I would like to place in the area next to the main slider two “banners”, one above the other, with a still image and a clickable link.
I tried inserting image and other possibilities as widget, but the space between the two elements above and below is too large, creating a bad effect compared to the distances of all the other elements.
How can I reduce this distance?
