We need help with adding pricing to variations!

Currently we may have up to 128 variations on one product!

This means manually working out all the prices, which takes hours ! We did complete this originally but now the suppliers have provided new prices and we simply cannot go through the whole process of working out the prices again!

There must be an easier way that we are missing ??
    Thanks

    Hi @topknotch ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It is possible to edit product prices in bulk.

The best way to do this would be to:

    – Navigate to Products, and select all the products that will be updated with the same price.
    – Select Edit and click Apply.
    – Navigate to Sale on the right-hand side and select Change to.
    – Enter the desired price, and hit update.

If you require more extensive bulk editing, you could check out the Bulk Edit Products, Prices and Attributes extension:

    Hope this helps!

I agree with what @roxannestoltz has said above, having said that 128 variations for a product can be bad design that can slow down hosting and may lead to a not so great experience from the customer perspective.

I would also recommend considering these options to reduce the number of variations https://woocommerce.com/document/group-bundle-products-woocommerce/

    Hello,

Thank you both for your reply and info.
@roxannestoltz I am not really sure how your reply helps with variations? as it only seems to work with simple products?

    Hi @topknotch ,

    Thanks for the clarity!

To edit variation prices you can navigate to Edit product > Variations under product data and click the drop-down. Here you have a few options to select from under Pricing, such as “Increase regular prices” and “Set regular prices”. Once you select the one you require, enter the desired amount and all the variation prices for that product will update accordingly, please see the screenshot below for reference:

If this does not allow you to achieve your desired results, as mentioned previously, it may be helpful to use a plugin that allows gives you extensive functionality for editing variation product prices in bulk.

    Hope this helps!

@roxannestoltz many thanks but the issue is that by using the above you can only increase by % and some of the variants wouldn’t have increased in price.

Do you know of any plugins that can help with this issue as I have looked but cannot find any easy way to edit variation prices ??

    Hi @topknotch ,

    Thanks for providing an update.

I could suggest Bulk edit products, prices and attributes plugin and if you would like more clarity on whether or not it will do exactly what you need, you could contact WooCommerce Support directly for any pre-sale question?

You can do this by going to WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need an account to access that page but they will answer any questions you may have for this specific extension there.

    I do hope this helps!

    Hi @topknotch,

To add to what @roxannestoltz has suggested, if you find that a plugin is not a desirable option, you might also consider using a CSV export and import workflow to bulk-edit those fields for your product variations.

WooCommerce itself includes a CSV import/export tool, and there is also an extension we offer to enhance this function called Product CSV Import Suite.

An example of this workflow would be:

    1. Export your existing products to a CSV file.
    2. Edit the CSV file and add or modify the price field or any other data you desire to change.
    3. Use the CSV import tool to Update your existing products – with the core WooCommerce import tool there is a checkbox to Update Existing Products.

Editing hundreds of values in a CSV file should take a fraction of the time that doing so within WooCommerce would take, and would allow you to edit multiple fields across all product variations in a single export/import cycle.

I hope this helps! If you do have any questions about the extensions we’ve recommended here, please feel free to create a ticket.
