• I want to start a blog and I wanted to use something like WordPress. However, the computer I will be able to install it on will not be connected to the internet, and I cannot install it on the one connected TO the internet. Is there any sort of browser version of a blogging program that doesn’t involve installation, or a way I can use WordPress but update it through e-mail on a different computer that it isn’t installed on?

I hope I can find an answer here, thanks!

  • Hi,

You can install XAMPP or WAMP on your local system. For that you need to install XAMPP/WAMP on your system first then install wordpress locally.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

What do you want to do with your blog? Do you want others to see it? Are you trying to set up a local network?

“Normal” blogs are installed on a server on the internet. All you need on a computer to access your blog is a browser (the same way you came here to post your question). WordPress does not require any special software on your PC beyond a browser if your blog is on a server on the internet.

If you just want to try blogging and are not setting up a business or get rich quick scheme site then WordPress.COM might be a good place to start. https://wordpress.com/ it is free and the sign-up takes about 5 min.
