My marketing agency wants Feed for Google, but since I’m into shoes, my products are variations.

Accordingly, I have products with variations 36,37,38 and so on.

At the moment, when I make a Feed for Google, it looks like this

    SKU100-36
    SKU100-37
    SKU100-38
    ….

And it should look like this:
    SKU100

What can I do about it?

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

I am not entirely sure what you mean. In what feed field do you get these values “SKU100-36”? Seems like a SKU value you mapped to your g:id field?

In other words, the different variations must be grouped together into one product.

The variable product should be visible in the feed, not the variation.

    Hi,

That is not possible and not allowed by Google either, please see:

Well, obviously that will stay the case. And can you guide me why he puts “||” in front of my categories.

That really depends, for what marketing channel are you creating this feed (Google has multiple) and what did you use for field mapping?

    For what marketing channel?

Hello, I am resuming the topic because I thought and commented a lot with my marketing agency. I see an omission in the plugin regarding my question. I will try to explain the situation very accurately, because I believe that other people will have the same problem.

Аs I said, I sell shoes that have different size variations, but everything else like color and price is identical. I need a feed for Google to show the parent product, not variations as separate products. This is because almost identical products that differ only in size will compete for conversions.

I have researched in detail the two options for adding and removing variations, but I see a big omission.
Imagine a situation where I leave only the variation SKU100-36 (Model 100 size 36) in the feed or choose it to be the default. The moment the amount of this variation or the default variation is exhausted, I will lose the whole product and it will fall out of the feed, although I will still have sku100-37 available; sku100-38, etc.

In that case you do have to add all variations in your feed that are “in_stock”, so yes that does mean you have the same color shoe in your feed with different sizes. Like mentioned, Google will not allow you to add parent variable products and will disapprove of those products when you try uploading those to your Merchant Center.

My marketing agency says the logic is wrong. Because that’s how we lose money, because the same products compete for conversions.

Then manually exclude the products you don’t want to be in your feed.

    Hello again.

What you offer is IMPOSSIBLE. I have 10,000 products available. My products are super dynamic and are delivered and exhausted every day. I guess for the shoe or clothing business, you guessed it, it’s impossible to set a “default” variation and change it once it’s exhausted.

My marketing company is pushing me to resort to another extension, but I don’t want to because I like PRODUCT FEED PRO.
Therefore, PLEASE come up with a solution.

I need to create a feed for Google Display – remarketing and dynamic product advertising

    Hi,

I am really sorry but we will not be able to do what your marketing agency wants to be done. As mentioned, both Google and Facebook do not support the adding of parent variable products to your feed, it will lead to product disapprovals in your Google Merchant Center which is not something you’d like.

The only two options/features our plugin has to only add 1 variation to your feed is the adding of only the default variation version (like discussed before) or the cheapest product variation (this only works when your individual variations are priced differently).

Unfortunately there is no other option available.
