• I’m working on a redesign for a client. Want to use Kadence but she does not like the way Search works. Currently, the only option seems to be that you click on the search icon, and then a popup takes over the entire screen with the search bar inside. She wants it where you click on search and then either the search appear above or below the icon or make takes over the entire nav bar like some themes do. Is there a way to do any of those things in Kadence?

  • Hi, @databell96!

Thanks for reaching out to us.

The free Kadence Theme includes the Search header item and that is its default layout. On the other hand, if you have the Kadence Theme Pro addon, you can enable the Header Addons and use the Search Bar header item. This will show a search text field.

On the other hand, if you have a third-party plugin for search and they have a shortcode to show a search field, you can copy that and paste it to your header in an HTML item.

    Here’s a screen recording for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAu8WAmj.

I hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

    Regards,
    Karla
