    Hello,

    I’ve been trying to run a scan over the last few hours but continue to get this error message:
    “Scan Failed
    The scan has failed because we were unable to contact the Wordfence servers. Some sites may need adjustments to run scans reliably.
    The error returned was:
    There was an error connecting to the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 28: SSL connection timeout.”

    Is this a Wordfence server issue or something I need to address?

    Hi @currentbay, thanks for reaching out to us.

    Make sure you’ve tried everything on the following page as starting scans remotely or some of the other tips are pretty successful in most cases: https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/troubleshooting/

    If you’re still unable to get the scan working, you could do the following steps for me:

    • Go to the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page
    • In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
    • Click to “Save Changes”.
    • CANCEL any current scan and start a NEW scan
    • Copy the last 20 lines from the Log (click the “Show Log” link) or so of the activity log once the scan finishes and paste them in this post.

    Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic > Debugging Screenshot

    This will help me see exactly what is happening when the scan fails.

    Sending this in conjunction with a diagnostic report could also help. You can send one to wftest @ wordfence . com by finding the link at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Please ignore this thread.
    I’m a Premium customer so I contacted Wordfence support and am dealing withe them on this issue.
