In a moment of inattention I created a category that should actually have been created as a translation of an existing category.
Both categories have several posts already and I wonder if I can still fix my problem and link both categories. (maybe by running an update statement in the database).

To explain what I want to do:
    I have
    – Category A (in language 1)
    – Category B (in language 2)

B is actually the translation of A but I forgot to use the ‘+-button’ next to Category 1 when creating it.

    Hello,

have a look to: https://polylang.pro/doc/translating-pages-posts-categories-and-tags/. The autocomplete field works for categories too.

Thanks, I had tried this but I now discovered what I was doing wrong.

I first went to the categories page clicked on the “+” next to my first category and started entering the name (category B) in the “name” field under “add new category”. This doesn’t work.

You need to go to the categories page, edit category A and scroll down on the edit page where you can link it to category B in the “translations” section. There the autocomplete is working.

    Thanks!
