refine search using a checkbox list of tags

    morning wordpress!

    I would like to find a way of filtering search results using tags and checkboxes eg…

    user searches my dog blog for spaniels and is presented with the results. they are then able to choose “king charles”, “cocker” and “outside” from a list of checkboxes (these can be hard coded, do not need to be dynamic) and click submit. The result will take their original search results and show posts tagged king charles, cocker OR outside.

    I am happy to use custom taxonomies or custom fields if this makes the task any easier.

    Any thoughts?
