    Dear friends,

    I am helping a friend for development of his website, during the past few days, his website has message at the bottom “Deprecated: Non-static method wgames_Show::fake_wp_footer() should not be called statically in his site’s public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 307.

    We have tried:

    (1) asked for hosting service with reply that “maybe the theme or plugin has conflicts with PHP 7.4, however, the website has been running great but has problem within this few days after installation of Events Manager plugin that should have conflicts with existing The Events Calendar plugin. We assume the problem was arisen from this event, so, we deactivated the Events Manager and deleted it but the problem is still there;

    (2) tried other theme but the error message is still there;

    (3) tried to restore the few days ago backup file but failed also;

    (4) tried to deactivate all plugins and open one by one to investigate which plugin has cause the issues

    Finally, “feedzy rss plugin” (tried the current version and older version) has caused the message error. Again, there was no problem few days ago, that plugin was great in use, we have no idea why it suddenly creates the problems.

    I am not sure whether there is a way to refresh the PHP (if it has problems) or any way to fix the issues. I hope anyone here can help. Many many thanks!!

    Best regards,
    Hong

  • If you’ve narrowed down the problem to one plugin, then kindly ask the plugin’s developer for a resolution.

    If you’re using the free version of the Feedzy RSS plugin, kindly post in the plugin’s own sub-forum here, so the plugin’s developer and support community can help you fix this: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/feedzy-rss-feeds/

    And if you’re using the paid version of the plugin, then you’ll need to contact the plugin directly, as commercial products cannot be supported here.

    Finally, as a stop-gap measure, and as this is a “deprecation” message… if the plugin’s functionality is not broken (yet) but you’re merely seeing the deprecated message, you can configure your PHP to NOT display errors on the screen. With or without a problem, production servers should ALWAYS be configured this way…. to not display error messages and warnings on screen.
