    Hi,
I use elementor page builder and it often happens that the transformations that I parameter when hovering over links (in this case, a vertical shift) no longer work, and I do not know the reason. On the other hand, everything works normally in the Elementor builder page.
In general, when this happens, updating my extensions solves the problem quite quickly. But today, I encounter this bug once again whereas my site is well up to date.
Is this problem known and if so, how to remedy it?
    Thank you !

  • Hi,

Can you please send me a link to your website?

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.
My site is currently in maintenance mode, but I’m going to disable it so you can see it.
    Here is the address:
Links whose animations are disabled are: “Colliers et plastrons”, “Bagues”, “Bijoux d’oreilles”, “Les intemporels”, “Esprit tribal”, “Collection métal”, “Les parures”.
I hope this will help you.

    Hi,

Thank you for giving me access, you can close it now.

I didn’t see anything specific in the console so to check if a conflict caused this, I would like to have you perform a few steps, please check after each step –
Make sure you have a full backup.
Go to Elementor > Settings on your WordPress dashboard.
Click the Advanced tab and then switch the CSS print method to Internal embedding.
Clear all cache: your browser’s cache, other plugins’ cache, server cache (if possible).
If the issue persists, deactivate all plugins apart from Elementor.
If this helps, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.
If this doesn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) and see if it makes any difference.

    Hi,

Thank you for your response and very helpful advice.
In fact, in the meantime, I went to Elementor > Tools in the WordPress dashboard and regenerated the CSS and data (following a user’s advice), and apparently that solved the problem.
So do I still have to perform your tests? What do you think caused this problem?

    Regards

    Hi,

I have seen this type of issue and regenerating CSS works, but you will usually have to do it more often.

This issue can come from a plugin/theme that is updated frequently and it can be a bit inconvenient in a while when you have to regenerate CSS more often.

I do suggest doing the checks if it happens again, although it is entirely your choice.

As for now, I am happy the issue is solved.

    Hi,

Indeed the problem is solved… for the moment! But it has already happened and as you say, it has a good chance of happening again. The previous times, I had not regenerated the data and the CSS (I did not know that it was a solution) and the problem disappeared by itself by updating the plugins that needed it.

Therefore, I will have to wait until the problem reappears to perform your tests. Can I keep you informed when I get the results of these tests, so you can tell me what to do?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,

The problem occurred earlier than expected, and as agreed, I performed all the tests you had recommended.
Unfortunately, none of the steps allowed the vertical shift to reappear on the links in question, not even the switch of theme.

So, what do you think is the cause of this issue? And what do you advise me to do?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

Can you contact your hosting and have them run a debug to see if something is coming up?

    (@debogueuse)

    Hi,

I have enabled debugging mode as indicated by my host and there are no errors to report on my site.

Moreover, after having done the tests yesterday (deactivation of the plugins and switching of the theme), I restored a version of my site that did not present any problem on my links (normal operation, therefore). And I happened to notice that the problem was appearing at the same time on another browser (Edge). On Firefox, everything works well. Is it related to the cause of the problem? Does it help you understand what’s going on?

    Regards

    Hi,

The problem appeared again with Firefox (without me doing anything), and the debug mode does not detect anything abnormal.
What will you suggest? Do I have to perform the tests again?

    (@debogueuse)

Out of consciousness, I began to redo the tests you suggested. After switching the CSS print method to Internal embedding and saving, the vertical shift on the links went back to normal… It’s incomprehensible. Maybe I missed it the first time.
    So, what do you deduce?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

My apologies for the delay, I was on leave.

Please clarify for me, does the CSS print fix the layout?

    Thread Starter debogueuse

    (@debogueuse)

    Hi,

Indeed, switching the CSS print method to Internal embedding solved the layout problem, at least this time.
I don’t understand why it didn’t work last time.
What do you think I should do?

    Regards

    Hi,

There might be a bug roaming, if you can contact your hosting and ask them to clear the server cache it might help.

The CSS change basically locks the code and prevents outside incoming bugs.

    Hi,

I have the possibility to empty the server cache myself, I only need to activate the feature. Will emptying this cache once be enough, or will I have to do it regularly in case of a problem?
Regarding the CSS printing method, should I leave this parameter on “Internal embedding” permanently to prevent the problem from happening again?

    Regards
