Hi @stralim,

Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing!

Unable to connect to the remote server
Trying to connect to our shipstation account using woocommerce on wordpress

Based on that error, it sounds like something is blocking ShipStation from connecting to your site/server.

I checked the connection of my test site using ShipStation and it is working alright.

From your site’s System Status Report, I noticed there are a number of security and caching plugins active:

– All In One WP Security: by All In One WP Security & Firewall Team – 4.4.12
– W3 Total Cache: by BoldGrid – 2.2.3
– Wordfence Security: by Wordfence – 7.5.11

Can you please disable the security and caching plugins and then try to connect to ShipStation again by following the steps mentioned in this document?

Please also reach out to your hosting company to see if they might have any security/firewall that might be blocking the connection.

If you are still having trouble, then please enable Logging on the WooCommerce > Settings > Integration > ShipStation page, and then do another connection test to generate logs. After that, check under WooCommerce > Status > Logs for a shipstation log (in the dropdown), then open it up and copy the contents, then include them in your reply here.

Hello Sandip,

I found out that our server has a firewall that when you turn it off allows you to connect with ShipStation. (while using all those plugins) But when you turn it back on, it blocks the connection.
I tried your recommendations just in case.

I was at a loss for what to request of the hosting service besides whitelisting the Shipstation Ip addresses which I found out are always changing.I asked that they whitelist the URLs but this is something they don’t do.
Even after whitelisting the IP addresses, no connection could be made.

Do you have any recommendations for what else I would request of the hosting company regarding the firewall on the server? Any configuration requests?

Thanks for letting me know. I see it’s that server firewall added by your host that is blocking the connection to ShipStation.

Do you have any recommendations for what else I would request of the hosting company regarding the firewall on the server? Any configuration requests?

I’d recommend you keep that firewall disable such that the site and Shipstation can integrate successfully.

Can you also ask your host – what that firewall is actually being used for and why is it blocking requests from ShipStation?
